We are proud to work with some excellent local suppliers, championing produce and ingredients from local suppliers, one of which is just a few doors down the road from us on the High Street. The Cheese Plate stocks the A to Z of British and Continental artisan cheeses from Abbaye de Tamie to Zwetschgerl, alongside Bries, Blues and Lancashire Bombs.

It all started when founder Toby Archer decided to open a cheese shop back in 2011. In 2013 The Cheese Plate became an award-winning cheesemonger, scooping the Le Gruyere AOP ‘Highly Commended’ prizes for cheesemonger and cheese counter.

Armed with an extensive knowledge and unfaltering palate the shop has gone from strength to strength, offering fabulous cheese and wine tasting evenings, whilst Toby’s daughter Hope oversees special events at The Cheese Plate, delivering stunning cheese stacks for weddings, parties and events.

You can find a selection of fine cheeses from The Cheese Plate on our dessert, Sunday, private feasting and special dinner menus. Served with chefs homemade oat cakes and some delicious chutneys, they are perfect for those who would rather round off dinner with something savoury.

The Falcon is an intimate 28 cover restaurant in Buntingford, Hertfordshire, run by husband and wife Kieren and Natasha Steinborn-Busse. With classic British flavours at their heart, the menus at The Falcon change with the seasons and champion produce from local farmers and suppliers. Inspired by the seasons, delicious roasts are our hallmark in the winter months, giving way to lighter dishes of smoked fish and grilled meats in the summer.
